Case Study – Lilly

Breed: Labrador Retriever
Age: 12.5 years

Lakefield, Ontario

Lilly is a 12.5 year old Labrador Retriever and self-proclaimed “farm dog.” She lives an active lifestyle and started to present with many signs of OA including a front leg limp, transitioning from carpet to hardwood, reluctance to walk/stand/run and clear overall pain.

At 12.5 years of age, Lilly had been on many over-the-counter supplements. She had been on Cartrophen for several treatments that were not working. She also had a bad neurological reaction to her first and only Librela injection.

Case Study – Traveller

Breed: American Foxhound
Age: 4.5 years

Peterborough, Ontario

Traveller is a 4.5 year old American Foxhound. He is a very active sporting dog who previously competed in field trials and was used for hunting coyotes. Traveller suffered a fracture to his left elbow (lateral condylar fracture) on September 2023. He had pins placed and later re-fractured it on December 26, 2023. His leg was amputated 2 days later.

Since his amputation and due to his deep chested body, his remaining front limb has become sore in the elbow area thus restricting his mobility and daily exercise, and deeply impacting his overall lifestyle. He has been on daily Omega 3 fatty acid supplements (before and after his surgery) and also trialed several 7-day courses of Metacam. His overall lameness appeared to hit a peak in April 2024.

With little to no improvement with Metacam it was suggested he try Adequan Canine injections. Following his 8th and final injection at the end of April 2024, his owner noticed it helped him significantly with his overall mobility. See below a before and after video of Adequan Canine.
